Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: "Śāntanu's son, the learned Bhīṣma, the illustrious riṣi Droṇa and you yourself have spoken the truth and that which is best for me.
धृतराष्ट्र ने कहा: "शांतनु के पुत्र, विद्वान भीष्म, यशस्वी ऋषि द्रोण और आपने स्वयं सत्य कहा है और जो मेरे लिए सर्वोत्तम है।
There is no doubt that since those mahāratha-s, the sons of Kuntī, are the sons of Pāṇḍu, they are also my sons according to dharma.
इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है कि चूँकि वे महारथी, कुंती के पुत्र, पांडु के पुत्र हैं, वे धर्म के अनुसार मेरे भी पुत्र हैं।
Since my sons are entitled to this kingdom, there is no doubt that Pāṇḍu's sons are also entitled to this kingdom.
चूँकि मेरे पुत्र इस राज्य के अधिकारी हैं, इसलिए इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है कि पाण्डु के पुत्र भी इस राज्य के हकदार हैं।

क्षत्तरानय गच्छैतान्सह मात्रा सुसत्कृतान् तया च देवरूपिण्या कृष्णया सह भारत
O kshatta! Go and honourably bring them and their mother here. O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! Also bring with them Kṛṣṇā of divine beauty.
हे क्षत्त! जाओ और उन्हें और उनकी माँ को सम्मानपूर्वक यहाँ ले आओ। हे भरत वंश के वंशज! अपने साथ दिव्य सौंदर्य वाले कृष्ण को भी लाओ।

It is through good fortune that the sons of Pṛthā are alive. It is through good fortune that Pṛthā is alive. It is through good fortune that those mahāratha-s have obtained Drupada's daughter.
सौभाग्य से पृथा के पुत्र जीवित हैं। यह सौभाग्य से है कि पृथा जीवित है। यह सौभाग्य ही है कि उन महारथियों को द्रुपद की कन्या प्राप्त हुई है।
It is through good fortune that our strength has increased. It is through good fortune that Purocana is dead. O greatly radiant one! It is through good fortune that my great grief has been dispelled."
सौभाग्य से ही हमारी शक्ति बढ़ी है। यह सौभाग्य से है कि पुरोकाना मर गया है। हे अत्यंत तेजस्वी! सौभाग्य से मेरा महान दुःख दूर हो गया है।”

वैशंपायन उवाच ततो जगाम विदुरो धृतराष्ट्रस्य शासनात् सकाशं यज्ञसेनस्य पाण्डवानां च भारत
Vaiśampāyana said: O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! Thereupon, on Dhṛtarāṣṭra's command, Vidūra went to Yajñasena and the Pāṇḍava-s.
वैशम्पायन ने कहा: हे भरत वंश के वंशज! तत्पश्चात, धृतराष्ट्र के आदेश पर, विदुर यज्ञसेन और पांडवों के पास गए।
O king! Having gone there, that righteous man, learned in all the śāstra-s, addressed Drupada appropriately and waited on him.
हे राजा! वहां जाकर समस्त शास्त्रों के ज्ञाता उस धर्मात्मा पुरुष ने द्रुपद को यथोचित संबोधित किया और उनकी प्रतीक्षा की।
He too received Vidūra in the appropriate way and they courteously asked about each other's welfare.
उन्होंने भी विदुर का उचित तरीके से स्वागत किया और उन्होंने विनम्रतापूर्वक एक-दूसरे का कुशलक्षेम पूछा।

ददर्श पाण्डवांस्तत्र वासुदेवं च भारत स्नेहात्परिष्वज्य स तान्पप्रच्छानामयं ततः
O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! He saw there the Pāṇḍava-s and Vāsudeva. He embraced them lovingly and asked about their welfare.
हे भरत वंश के वंशज! उन्होंने वहां पांडवों और वासुदेव को देखा। उन्होंने उन्हें प्यार से गले लगाया और उनका कुशलक्षेम पूछा।

One after another, they worshipped Vidūra, who was immensely wise. O king! On Dhṛtarāṣṭra's instructions, he repeatedly and affectionately asked Pāṇḍu's sons about their welfare.
एक के बाद एक, उन्होंने विदुर की पूजा की, जो अत्यंत बुद्धिमान थे। हे राजा! धृतराष्ट्र के निर्देश पर, उन्होंने पांडु के पुत्रों से बार-बार और स्नेहपूर्वक उनके कल्याण के बारे में पूछा।
And when they had asked him questions he gave them jewels and various kinds of wealth

O lord of the people! These riches had been sent by the Kaurava-s through him.

In the presence of the Pāṇḍava-s and Keśava, the supremely wise Vidūra then addressed Drupada in modest words of affection.

The immensely wise Bhīṣma, the son of Śāntanu, and all the other Kaurava-s have enquired about your welfare in every way.
शांतनु के पुत्र अत्यंत बुद्धिमान भीष्म तथा अन्य सभी कौरवों ने हर तरह से आपका कल्याण पूछा है।
The great archer Droṇa, the son of Bhāradvāja and your beloved friend, has enquired about your welfare, embracing you.
भारद्वाज पुत्र और आपके प्रिय मित्र महान धनुर्धर द्रोण ने आपको गले लगाकर आपका कुशलक्षेम पूछा है।
O king of Pāñcāla! Dhṛtarāṣṭra and all the other Kaurava-s regard themselves as fortunate at this alliance with you.
हे पंचाल के राजा! धृतराष्ट्र और अन्य सभी कौरव आपके साथ इस गठबंधन में खुद को भाग्यशाली मानते हैं।

न तथा राज्यसंप्राप्तिस्तेषां प्रीतिकरी मता यथा संबन्धकं प्राप्य यज्ञसेन त्वया सह
O Yajñasena! This alliance with you has given them greater pleasure than acquiring a new kingdom.
हे यज्ञसेना! आपके साथ इस गठबंधन ने उन्हें एक नया राज्य प्राप्त करने से भी अधिक खुशी दी है।
O lord! Knowing all this, you must allow the Pāṇḍava-s to depart. The Kuru-s are extremely eager to see Pāṇḍu's sons.
हे भगवान! यह सब जानकर तुम्हें पांडवों को जाने की अनुमति देनी होगी। कुरु पाण्डु के पुत्रों को देखने के लिए अत्यंत उत्सुक थे।
These bulls among men have been away from home for a long time. They and Pṛthā must be eager to see their city.
पुरुषों के बीच ये बैल लंबे समय से घर से दूर हैं। वे और पृथा अपने शहर को देखने के लिए उत्सुक होंगे।

कृष्णामपि च पाञ्चालीं सर्वाः कुरुवरस्त्रियः द्रष्टुकामाः प्रतीक्षन्ते पुरं च विषयं च नः
All the chief women of the Kuru lineage and all the inhabitants of the city and the country are waiting to see the Pāñcāla princess, Kṛṣṇā.
कुरु वंश की सभी प्रमुख महिलाएँ और शहर और देश के सभी निवासी पंचाल राजकुमारी, कृष्ण को देखने की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं।

स भवान्पाण्डुपुत्राणामाज्ञापयतु माचिरम् गमनं सहदाराणामेतदागमनं मम
O illustrious one! It is my view that without any more delay, you should issue instructions for the Pāṇḍava-s to go there with their wife.
हे महामहिम! मेरा विचार है कि बिना किसी देरी के आपको पांडवों को उनकी पत्नी के साथ वहां जाने का निर्देश जारी करना चाहिए।
O king! When the great-souled Pāṇḍava-s have got your permission, I shall send word to Dhṛtarāṣṭra through swift messengers, and the sons of Kuntī can leave, with Kuntī and Kṛṣṇā."
हे राजा! जब महान आत्मा वाले पांडवों को आपकी अनुमति मिल जाएगी, तो मैं त्वरित दूतों के माध्यम से धृतराष्ट्र को संदेश भेजूंगा, और कुंती के पुत्र कुंती और कृष्ण के साथ जा सकते हैं।
